We collect information you provide when creating an account (name, email address, and authentication data from Apple or Google sign-in), your location data when you allow it (to show nearby providers), reviews and content you post, and usage data to improve our service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the Lucida service, show you relevant providers in your area, display your reviews and profile to other users, send you notifications about your account, and ensure the safety and security of our platform.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the platform, when required by law or to protect our rights, and in anonymised or aggregated form for analytics.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymised data may be retained for analytics purposes.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate information, delete your account and associated data, export your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent for data processing at any time.

6. Analytics, Error Reporting & AI Moderation

We use PostHog (EU-hosted) for anonymous usage analytics to understand how the app is used, and Sentry for crash and error reporting to fix issues quickly. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell data to advertisers. To keep the platform safe, user-submitted review text and images are sent to OpenAI for automated content moderation (checking for harmful or inappropriate content). Only the review content is sent — no personal identifiers such as your name or email are included. OpenAI does not use this data to train its models.

7. Children

Lucida is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.

8. Legal Basis (UK GDPR)

We process your data under the following legal bases: consent (location data, notifications), contractual necessity (account management, service delivery), and legitimate interests (analytics, security, fraud prevention). You can withdraw consent at any time through your device settings or by contacting us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or by email.
